Saturday August 14

8h00 – Image of the Hope Ranch Run and Color Walk, at the ranch, 5499 CR 31. Check-in is at 8:00 am and the event will begin at 9:00 am. The cost is $ 20 for adults and $ 15 for children, which includes a t-shirt and lunch. Admission to color bombers is free. Color bombs, food and drink will be available for purchase. Registration for runners and walkers is done on the Image of Hope website, imageofhoperanch.com. Other activities will include archery, horse demonstrations, photos with horses and a petting zoo. 9 am-3pm – Sale of Friends of Eckhart Public Library books, Library Annex, 212 W. 12th St. The sale will include books for adults and children, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks and collectors’ books. Selling hours are 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for Friends members and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the public.

6 pm-8pm – Fun family picnic, hosted by DeKalb County Indiana Democrats, Francis Thomson Park, 340 W. VanVleek St. All are welcome and food will be provided. In an effort to promote environmental advocacy and sustainability, the event committee is asking everyone to bring their own reusable dishes and mugs. As a service project during the picnic, donations for the new community pantries will be collected.

Saturday August 28

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Vintage Aircraft Association Chapter 37 (VAA37) offers young people aged 8 to 17 free rides in small planes to introduce and inspire young people in the world of aviation; flights depart from DeKalb County Airport on CR 60, south of Auburn, weather permitting. 4 pm-9pm – Relay For Life Walk, James Cultural Plaza, downtown Auburn. Opening ceremony at 4:30 p.m., silent auction 4 p.m.-7 p.m., lighting ceremony at 8 p.m. There will be food trucks, children’s games, music and walking. The event is open to the public.
