Ayaka skills in Genshin Impact

miHoYo

Ayaka can be played in many roles on any Genshin Impact team.

Normal Attack: Kamisato Art Kabuki

  • Normal attack: Ayaka makes up to five quick strikes, rushing through his opponent in the last.
  • Charged attack: Ayaka consumes stamina to unleash a burst of sword ki, dealing burst damage.
  • Plunging attack: Ayaka dives from the air to strike the ground, damaging opponents along the way and dealing AOE damage on impact

Elementary Skill: Kamisato Art Hyouka

Ayaka’s main ability is quite simple, she summons a circle of ice around her, knocking down enemies. It deals a ton of cryogenic damage and is excellent – when combined with Hydro – at freezing multiple enemies at once after exiting its sprint (more on that later).

Elemental Explosion: Kamisato Art Soumetsu

Ayaka’s ultimate releases a huge cone of cryogenic energy. It cuts through enemies caught in its path, before exploding at the end to deal a massive burst of damage. This is best combined with elemental reactions such as Melt (Pyro) and Freeze (Hydro).

The trick with this ability is making sure you hit as many enemies as possible, so use whatever crowd control you have to group them together.

Ayaka’s Elemental Burst is great for getting many reactions at once.

Alternative Sprint: Kamisato Art Senho

While not an ability in itself, Ayaka’s alternate sprinting is an integral part of his kit. Instead of running like an ordinary adventurer, Ayaka hides behind a cloud of frozen fog, moving at high speed on land and water.

When she stops running, she reappears and applies Cryo to nearby enemies. She also imbues her blade with Cryo, dealing additional elemental damage for a few seconds with her attacks.

Constellation

Do you have several copies of Ayaka? Then you have a few Constellation buffs to activate.

  • Level 1 – Snow-swept Sakura: When Kamisato Ayaka’s normal or charged attacks inflict Cryo DMGs on opponents, he has a 50% chance to reduce Kamisato Art Hyouka’s CD by 0.3 sec. This effect can occur once every 0.1s.
  • Level 2 – Blizzard Blade Seki no To: When launching Kamisato Art Soumetsu, unleash 2 additional smaller Souken Gates, each inflicting 20% of the original Storm’s DMG.
  • Level 3 – Kamifubuki Frost Flowers: Increases Kamisato Art Soumetsu level by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Level 4 – ebb and flow: Opponents damaged by the Souken Gates of Kamisato Art Soumetsu will have their DEF reduced by 30% for 6s.
  • Level 5 – Irutsuki Flower Cloud: Increases Kamisato Art Hyouka’s level by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Level 6 – Dance of Suigetsu: Kamisato Ayaka wins Usurahi Butou every 10s. Increases his charged attack DGT by 298%. This buff will be cleared 0.5s after Ayaka’s Charge ATK hits an opponent, after which this ability’s timer will restart.

Best Ayaka Artifacts in Genshin Impact

There is a very good set of artifacts for Ayaka in Genshin Impact: Blizzard Strayer. While the 2-piece combo that increases his Cryo damage is good, the 4-piece set that increases his CRIT rate increases his DPS to the next level.

If you use her as a Secondary or Support DPS, the Emblem of Severed Fate or Noblesse Oblige sets might be better, as they maximize making the most of her elemental damage without a free kick.

It can be a bit tricky to grind, but anything that boosts CRIT rate, CRIT DMG, raw attack, and even elemental mastery (you want around 130-150 in total) are all good on Ayaka. These are also the sub-stats that you want to look for on his artifacts, so keep that in mind when correcting them!

Best Ayaka Weapons in Genshin Impact

Because Ayaka can unleash elemental attacks with ease thanks to her Sprint Passive, you want to take advantage of it with her weapons. If you can find a Reforged Mist Cutter to get the elemental damage bonus, it will treat you well in the long run.

There are other options, however. Primordial Jade Cutter is a solid sword option for everyone, while Blackcliff Longsword (her best F2P option), Amenoma Kageuchi (for support), and The Black Sword (best if you’re leading her as the primary DPS) allow her to ‘increase its damage on a fight.

Ayaka Talent Leveling and Climbing Material

It’s not just the weapons and artifacts you need to worry about in order to maximize your Ayaka – you need to invest in her personally. This means improving her talents and pushing her to Ascension level 6.

Ayaka’s materials are mainly focused on Inazuma. You must fight Nobushi to cultivate handguards, run around the Grand Narukami Shrine for Sakura Blossoms, and take on the Thundering Valley Estate for its drops of elegance.

Considering her power as a primary or secondary DPS, you want to maximize her Normal Attack Talent (Kabuki) first, before focusing on her Elemental Skill and Burst. However, if you’re leading her more as a support for someone like Diluc, it’s fine to invest in her Elemental Skill before her attacks.

Ayaka trailer in Genshin Impact

Ayaka trailer abandoned before his release in Genshin Impact patch 2.0, featuring the friendly “princess” of the Kamisato clan.

While she looks graceful as she walks the streets of Inazuma, she is a deadly force on the battlefield. The trailer shows how powerful his Cryo abilities are, especially with his unique Sprint Passive.

The best allies for partying with Ayaka

Impact of Xingqiu Genshin
miHoYo

Xingqiu makes freezing enemies a snap as Ayaka.

If you want to run Ayaka as the main DPS, you need to focus on freezing enemies with Cryo’s reaction to Hydro. Xingqiu is the best option for this, providing great Hydro support without too much battlefield time.

Diona and Kaeya are good additions to get the Cryo Resonance bonus and reduce its reliance on elemental mastery. An Anemo character like Venti, Kazuha, Where Sucrose complements the team well – they usually help regroup enemies for its elemental burst.

However, if you choose to run a more favorable Ayaka composition, you can run Hydro-focused transport like Mona Where Child. Reverse Melt comps turning around Bennett and Diluc are also strong too. It just depends on what units you have and your preferred playstyle.
